Freak Like Me (3:15)

Cover of Change

From Change and 35 other releases

After Siobhan Donaghy left Sugababes in 2001, and new member, Heidi Range, replaced her. The first single from the Sugababes’ first album with Range was “Freak Like Me”; a cover of “Freak Like Me” , by Adina Howard, accompanied by a loop of Gary Numan’s “Are ‘Friends’ Electric?” creating an irresistible dance pop masterpiece that went to #1 in the UK in April 2002.

When asked what he thought of the use of his song Gary Numan said that he considered all of his work to simply be out there and if people wanted to use it (legally) he didn’t have a problem with it.

Now thats how to sample [2] Whoever had the idea of having these three gorgeous voices sing an Adina Howard song on top of a Gary Numan bassline is a fucking genius.
