Striving For Better was formed in the spring of 2005 by lead guitarist Ian Coffey and bassist Alex Jennings . The band was started as an escape from the hardcore-laden southern New Jersey music scene. Coffey had the idea of turning every venue he played into a party. When asked to describe his brainchild Striving For Better, Coffey smiles and laughes suggesting “As for right now, we’re just having a ball, and I hope everyone will start to notice that in our music.” People seem to be noticing, because one by one Striving For Better’s songs are turning into the soundtrack to a genarations party scene. Throughout the summer of 05’ Striving For Better continued to write songs, and play countless shows including opening for/sharing the stage with such National acts as: The Academy Is, Tokyo Rose, Senses Fail, The Early November, Catch 22, Valencia, Don’t Look Down, Straylight Run, Yellowcard, New Found Glory, and Taking Back Sunday.

A few months later we saw Jeff Todd added to vocals and Josh Wyatt added on guitar. In winter of 2005 Striving For Better caught the eye of producers Nik Tyler and Matt Robnett (The Starting Line, Like Lions), and were invited to record an ep at the legendary Water Music Studio (U2, The Dave Mattews Band, Taking Back Sunday) in Hoboken, New Jersey. Another Forever EP was recorded through out the month on June and is set to be released in November. When Striving For Better returned home from the Another Forever studio sessions, Richard White was added to drums, and Wayne Burnett was added to the second singer position, (both of the former South Jersey pop rock group All Purpose Hero).
