1.Strangers with Candy (1999-2000) was a Comedy Central original series which was written and created by Stephen Colbert, Amy Sedaris, Paul Dinello and Mitch Rouse, and starred Stephen Colbert, Amy Sedaris, Paul Dinello and Greg Hollimon, amongst others. The movie prequel to the series was released in 2006. The show was a spoof of the after school specials of the 1970s and 1980s and was partially based on a 1970 public-service film.

2.Strangers with Candy was also the name of a band from Pennsylvania, which later became known as Lifer.
