The most exciting band to come out of the north west of Ireland this year is Strait Laces. Three young feisty lads making spiky-rock-pop, they always pack a punch with their music.

Formed in early 2008 Strait Laces are considered to be a relatively new on the scene but are already wreaking havoc and delighting audiences all across Ireland and the UK. 2009 saw them playing Trans, Eurocultured and Liverpool Sound City Festivals and they’ve also supported the likes of Texan outfit White Denim and local heroes General Fiasco.

With a Radio One session already under their belt and spot plays on both Rory McConnell and Huw Stephens shows, Strait Laces are already being tipped as ‘ones to watch’ in 2010.

Along with contemporaries And So I Watch You From Afar, Panama Kings and Ed Zealous, Strait Laces continue to prove that Northern Ireland is a hot-bed of musical activity.

Their incredibly catchy debut single ‘Seconds Out’ is due for release through Bruised Fruit Records on November 2nd 2009.

Press Quotes:
“Chunky, Ballsy… A little bit sinister… all delivered with admirable energy by a band it’s easy to like” - BBC NI

“The electricity of Foals, the swagger of Arctic Monkeys and the shouty confidence of Bloc Party, Strait Laces have got it all. Three young whippersnappers from the windy North West Coast of Ireland bring the party every time.” - Belfast Trans Festival

“Their live set has always been brilliant!… certainly know how to work the crowd” -

Dibs first shout , cause I am highly confident these guys will be huge. They already have 4 or 5 songs better, lyrics and all, and catchier than most of those 'NME' bands you see now and are unique but also highly underrated. Deadly band and hope they go onto great things.
