Forming in 1998, STR were a powerhouse that blended punk rock, pop punk and hardcore with a devout Christian theme. Their latest release is “Hopes For Hire” and they disbanded in 2005 to pursue other projects.

I reckon the reason why so many talented pop punk bands from the 90s are christian is both due to the success of MxPx and the strong social/community networks that exist in the church coupled with DIY/volunteer nature of running church itself...
