This 1970’s SF based ten-piece band released three albums in 1971-1972 and toured extensively in Europe. Like most SF based bands of the day, Stoneground combined studio musicianship and excellent live performances, as demonstrated on the Last Days of the Fillmore Album (1972). The band split in 1973 with some members forming Pablo Cruise.

Stoneground has reformed in recent years, released Back with a Vengeance in 2004.

Stoneground was one of the great bands to emerge from San Francisco in the early '70s. But they fell apart, way too soon, before the rest of the world had a chance to witness this extraordinary band. But 'till this day, they enjoy almost legendary status amongst those of us that were blessed to experience even one of their live shows.
