About this album

Brand New Day is Sting’s sixth solo album. A Grammy Award winner, it peaked at number nine on the Billboard 200 and sold over 3,000,000 copies. The song “Desert Rose” prominently features popular Algerian Raï singer Cheb Mami. Originally, Sting’s usual producer Hugh Padgham was to produce the record, but Sting was happy with the work done by Kipper, and Padgham was never called. Many sounds from Spectrasonics can be heard in Kipper’s work on the record.

The full version of “The End of the Game” was included on the single for “Brand New Day” and the DTS and DVD-Audio releases of the album. The music video for the title track is a parody of bleach commercials, and advertises “Brand new ‘Day Ultra’” brand.

A Thousand Years isn't the same here as it is on the album. Anyways I love this album and have been listening to it for years. If this was the past when I didn't have a account this album would have a ton of plays by me.

I don't like this album. Sure, lyrics are great, but the music isn't so good. It's electronic and pop... Where is rock?!

Probably my favorite Sting album. A Thousand Years is my favorite song, followed closely by Fragile.

It's the best and most inspired album of Sting. A broad variety of expressing feelings.

One of my all-time favorite albums; kind of too bad the 30-second tracks here aren't from the real album. Funky versions, though =)

The version of A Thousand Years being played here isn't the one on the album. This is a sort of lounge version. Very nice - I wonder where it comes from?
