  • Interesting is the fact that this song was originally written in 1966 (and performed by Tammi Terrell). It's been rumored that during the '80s, Stevie's confidence in his creative ability was starting to waver, so perhaps rather than going with a new creation and instead revamping an older one shows a bit of this. This is in no way bad thing though. Stevie's rendition gives the tune new life (and more life at that) and is no doubt one of the better songs on Hotter than July. Almost makes you wonder how many of Stevie's songs that have just been in the vault/library for years and years are just pulled out and decided to be done/released by him.
  • The Michael Jackson BVs aren't even all that special - it should be noted though that joining Mike are respective singers Betty Wright & Eddie Levert, could've just as easily been Stevie singing that part though tbh...
  • Such a gorgeous song, and that's before you even get to the MJ backgrounds...
  • And hearing MJ on backing vocals is a plus
  • Listening to this always reminds me of being 16 and playing this constantly. Timeless and romantic.
