If anybody could take a Hendrix song that has been recorded by most of the guitar "gods" and turn it into his own, it was Stevie Ray Vaughan with his two sidemen, Double Trouble (Chris Layton and Tommy Shannon). In classic SRV fashion, he lays a tribute to Hendrix that is even better than Jimi himself for some, but just smiles and keeps on strumming. All he ever wanted was to play guitar, and that he did. Like nobody else.

  • SRV does go a step further than JH, doesn't he.
  • My favorite is Clapton's from Derrick & The Dominos.
  • Fantastic tune, I also recommend the version by Lara Price with vocals
  • Looove it..
  • I heard this version before JH's. Both of them are absolutely fantastic, but this one is just beautiful.
  • Stevie's version of "Little Wing" is absolutely fantastic. Jimi's original is already great but what Stevie did with this song really blows my mind. For me, he is the greatest axeman of them all.
  • ...ein starkes Stück...
  • I could listen to this all day.. that sound, man. R.I.P.
