Steve Penk is a legendary radio presenter, most famous for his hilarious wind-up calls. He currently owns north west radio station, The Revolution, where he also fronts the breakfast show.

He began his career at Piccadilly Radio in Manchester (now Key 103), where he eventually worked his way up to the breakfast show, achieving superb audience figures.

He then jumped at the chance to join the world’s premiere radio station, Capital 95.8, and presented the mid-morning show in the heyday of the station during the famous Chris Tarrant and Foxy era.

After that, he was asked to front Virgin Radio’s dirvetime show, but, due to an unfortunate incident with Chris Evans, he ended up doing the breakfast show.

Penky then moved back to Capital to present the networked late show across Capital, Invicta, Southern, Fox, Red Dragon, Power and BRMB. A return to Manchester and Key 103 then called, before he went on to front the Fox FM breakfast show - where he cited “internal” politics as the reason for his departure, after the appointment of a new PD at the station.

In 2008, Penk announced he was to purchase niche indie/alternative station 96.2 The Revolution in his native north-west. He immediately invoked a total rebrand of the station to a MOR, more melodic format, ensuing the wrath of some listeners, before unveiling the new experienced, witty and star breakfast host on the station: none other than Steve Penk himself.

May you be coaxed to "Jump" when at your lowest. Or come to realize how warped your values are. Stay classy!
