Born in Ealing, London in 1960, the family shortly after moved to Swindon, where he was educated. Steve taught himself to play the guitar aged 14, after a few years of learning to play the Trombone and playing in the school orchestra and local youth brass band.

He joined the School Jazz band and appeared on BBC TV on the school music competition Settle The Score.

It was at school where the seeds of his first band, Cloud, were planted.

At this time, Steve was also developing his solo guitar style and won a heat of a local talent competion playing his version of Misty.

While Steve was with Cloud they released the singles Take It To The Top, All Night Long and Party Life and The Rio. Take It To The Top made a low entry into the UK charts, and reached number 3 on the Radio Luxembourg chart.

After Steve parted company fom Cloud, he formed Style X which released the single No Secret Affair.

Steve’s time was then spent playing in local bands covering a variety of styles and eventually spent a number of years playing the Rock ‘n’ Roll scene with the Midnite Dynamo’s and Steve Vincent and the Volunteers.

Turning back to Jazz, Steve then joined forces with an old friend and Guitarist, Ian Jackson to form the successful Nuages Jazz Guitar Duo. The Duo were fortunate to play many Jazz festivals across the country including Birmingham, Marlborough, Teignmouth, Swindon, Malmesbury and the International Gypsy Guitar Festival.
