Stephen Kent
Biography
Stephen Kent is a didgeridoo musician from Australia who lives in the San Francisco Bay Area. He used to record with the world music ensemble Trance Mission and with ambient/experimental outfit Lights In A Fat City. He made the album Halcyon Days (1996), together with Steve Roach, and Kenneth Newby.
In 2008 he formed part of the group “Australian Bebop Ragas” with Teed Rockwell (Chapman Stick) and Sameer Gupta (tabla, drums), performing at Berkeley’s “Freight and Salvage” and that year’s Jammin’ Tree Didj Festival, among other venues. They recorded the album “Snakes and Ladders”, a compelling fusion of Indian and Australian music.
