Steph Fraser is a singer/songwriter based in Blackpool, UK. She is signed to Sonic Vista Recordings and her first single ‘Purple Sun’ was released on May 19th, 2008. Reviews of the single can be seen at the official Steph Fraser website www.stephfraser.co.uk.
From humble beginnings winning many talent contests, Steph has progressed to a stage where she stole the show at a Canadian Music Week showcase at the Royal York Hotel, Toronto as well as performing in front of 18,000 people for BBC Radio 2’s switch on event in the autumn of 2007.
Along with violinist Stephen Ladley, Steph is writing a prolific amount of material that is garnering praise wherever she plays. Her latest recordings were done at Catherine North studios in Hamilton, Ontario with producer Dan Achen. Dan had just finished work on the new City & Colour album for Dallas Green and the formulae proved to be exceptional with new subtleties being developed.
A return to Canada in August 2008 for a small tour saw her perform 8 shows in Ontario (Hamilton x 2, Campbellville, Toronto x 2, Sault St Marie x 2, and Oakville). She also recorded songs for the forthcoming album at Catherine North Studios.
ON her return to the UK she played The Acoustic Gathering festival in Scarborough and Tommyfest in the Fylde along with appearances at The Opera House and North Pier Blackpool.
In March 2009 she reappears at CMW for further showcases. Her 2nd single ‘Pretend’ with new partner Phil Simpson is being released in March 2009.
