Jeff "Skunk" Baxter, who played guitar on many of their records, is a self-taught expert on mobile missile defense systems. He wrote a paper on the topic in the early 1990s which caught the eye of conservative lawmakers on Capitol Hill. He has subsequently testified before Congress and is a consultant to the Pentagon.

According to "Best of Steely Dan: An Inside Look at the Guitar Styles of Steely Dan" the solo in the middle of the song is Denny Dias and the outro solo (at the end) is Jeff "Skunk" Baxter. Both were members of the original band.

If you have to ask, you're not a fan. SD fans are difinitve in their conviction about their body of work and what they mean to them...never try to compare or over analyze their music.

Gotta be BODHISATTVA for me-The drive, the keyboards, the rythm section, even the clapping but above all the synched and counterpointed guitar work is of another level (Jeff Baxter I think). Rock/jazz/funk at it's very best by The Dandom. I'm not sure that lastfm have the original-scrobble it on Spotify or something for best effects.

One of my favorites by Steely Dan. Actually, I don't think I dislike any Steely Dan song. They're all great!

The first guitar solo is easily one of the best guitar solos out there.

It burns the speakers! (And yes, sounds like the crazy genius brother of "Rock around the clock")

Steely Dan, or whatever... Am I the only one or does this song sound like a strange inversion of "Rock Around the Clock"? s
