-5 piece punk band. Harmonies, melodies, and kick-assities+Statements Lost was a Chicago-based punk band formed in the early 2000s by guitarist and songwriter Todd Stephanuik, the only consistent member of the band. Despite hailing from a scene known for its own version of punk rock, Statements Lost played a style more resembling So-Cal punk bands like Bad Religion and The Offspring than Chicago-based punk bands like Naked Raygun. The best known incarnation of the band featured Stephanuik on guitar and backing vocals, Danny Gonya on guitar and backing vocals, his brother Mike Gonya on drums, Matt Heckler on bass, and Dwight Haesler singing lead. The band played regularly around the Chicago area, released two short-run EPs and had recently finished recording their debut full-length End of an Error when they disbanded due to a combination of financial issues surrounding the pressing of the album, creative differences, and general laziness.
