A true masterpiece. Reminds me alot of Eno's 1-1, from Music for Airports.

"Obvious theft of Send In The Clowns. I'm surprised there were no copyright infringement lawsuits. Art or not, write your own." Someone's a Streisand fan! hiyoooo Which is funny, because she didn't write it either. No one who is famous for singing this song wrote it. This song has been performed by, what, at least five different recording acts, none of which are for whom it was written. 'Art or not, write your own' give me a break. A brilliant de/reconstruction. These 'thieves' have taken a Sondheim track intended for Broadway, and turned it into the audio equivalent of floating in space. I love you, Stars of The Lid.

Theft? Only if they hadn't obtained permission to sample Send In The Clowns. SOTL had written plenty of their own stuff. Nothing too unconventional with sampling once in a while. Damnit, I'm obsessed. I guess they're another one of those love 'em or hate 'em. Hmm.
