It was their last show as Starfucker. And the show was a Supernovaorgasm.
The band was more energetic than I have ever seen them. And so did the crowd- maybe due to the fact that everyone was in costume and generally disinhibited. The band members dressed up as star trek characters...the bassist was probably the best, looking exactly like this guy:
Vocalist Ryan Bjornstad as a sexy star trek girl was a close second. If anyone has pictures, please post!!! Also, I hear he is a dad now- congratulations!
Girls just want to have fun.
On to the music. They played most of Jupiter including:
Dance Face 2000
Bed-Stuy (Super Cop)

10 Jan 2009, 21:32 by FinalPizzaHutSo, I've finally decided to cut myself off from trying to cram as many 08 releases into my ears as possible, and just make this damn list already. There are a lot of albums that I wish I had gotten to, and which very possibly would have made it onto this list. I listened to well over 200 releases from last year (many of which I feel I didn't really digest enough to include them on this list, Dear Science, among them, sorry TVotR fans), and I've still got almost 100 waiting in the wings (and the 09 releases have already started coming in...it never stops). There just isn't enough time in the day, is there?
It should be said that these rankings really aren't set in stone at all. If I made this list tomorrow, the order would be almost completely different (although the Top 10 is pretty correct, I think). However, most of the same albums would be present.
Anyway, enough of my blabbering. Here's my take on the Top 50 Albums of 2008.

The best return of an old favorite ever. They even mention my home town in a song of theirs! The Smittens are the perfect twee band with the happiest songs all the while still retaining a certain heaviness to the lyrics. And most certainly are one of the funnest bands around.
#24 At Mount Zoomer - Wolf Parade
I was waiting for this album for so long. The side projects of Handsome Furs and Sunset Rubdown were excellent fodder and both made it on my list last year. This follow up to the first album is so different from what I was expecting. It is a mixture of the side influences into this conglomeration, which definitely isn't bad. I just miss the instant success of Apologies. Still, it is one crazy ride with some fantastic lyrics.

28 Aug 2008, 03:26 by FinalPizzaHutAlright, so we're well past the halfway mark of 2008, and while it's a bit early for me to start making a top 20, I still like to make a journal of all the releases I've heard in a year, to keep track of them for myself, and hopefully to help someone else find something good. This will be updated on pretty much a daily basis, as I have a substantial backlog of music that I have yet to really piece together my thoughts on, or to even listen to at all. Also, I encourage recommendations, and nothing is off limits, so don't be afraid to toss something out there!
Oh, and feel free to let me know if I should perhaps re-evaluate some of these albums. Sometimes really great material can get lost in the mix, and I'm sure I'll be periodically changing some of these ratings as it is.
Italicized text indicated album ratings added at last update.
Bold text indicates albums that should be picked up pretty much no matter what. Note that these are not necessarily the albums with the highest scores…
