There are two bands called Starfucker: 1) Starfucker from Portland, Oregon, United States. They changed their name to Pyramiddd. 2) Starfucker from Leuven, Belgium.
1) Starfucker is an indie-electronica band that was founded in the summer of 2007 in Portland, Oregon, United States. The band is made up of multi-instrumentalists Josh Hodges (keyboard, guitar, vocals, drums), Ryan Biornstad (vocals, turntables, keyboard, guitar) Shawn Glassford (bass, keyboard, drums) and were joined by Keil Corcoran (drums, keyboard, vocals, guitar) in 2009.
In the summer of 2007, in a house basement, Josh Hodges sat behind a stripped-down borrowed drumset with a loop pedal and a microphone with the simple goal of having fun with the young crowd gathered there for the show. A few short months later, a project invented solely out of the need for something different and new in his life had him sharing the stage with former Sexton Blake band-mate Ryan Biornstad and new friend Shawn Glassford to create a potent live show that is powerful enough to transcend the tongue-in-cheek quality behind the band’s name.
Their self titled debut album was released by Badman Recordings in September of 2008 and was featured on iTunes Indie Spotlight and MySpace; their video premiered on Pitchfork and they had one of the all-time most downloaded songs German Love on eMusic’s Daily Download. On Valentine’s Day 2009, they played to their largest ever sold-out crowd in their hometown of Portland, Oregon, and less than nine months after the delivery of their debut album Starfucker they’re back with the eight song mini-album Jupiter.

before i listened to them i thought they would be lame because "starfucker" is such a terrible name. after i became obsessed with them, the name kinda grew on me. although last night was their last official show as starfucker (and a fucking amazing show it was), they will always be starfucker...just called something less offensive and more mature.
