About this album

‘The Luxury of Anger’ from Stare has been released on ‘East Zone Records’. A digital download is also available via itunes. The album is a double CD also featuring a bonus disk with previous single releases from founder Stare members, Richard Hammerton and Michael ‘Bruno’ Brown.
Stare had a glimpse of the big time back in 1992 when the band’s eponymous track, ‘Stare’ won ‘Best Demo Track of the Week’ for four weeks running on Gary Crowley’s ‘Demo Clash’ slot on radio station GLR. They went on to be signed by Big Life records and released three EPs. The Debut single ‘Stare’ appeared on ITV’s Chartshow, MTV and VH1 after being hit listed by Radio 1. The band also performed a ‘double header’ at London’s Borderline Club in January 1992…the other band being The Verve.
The band toured consistently for 18 months around the UK before going their separate ways.
Original band members, Richard Hammerton (lead vocals), Michael Bruno Brown (Guitar), Karl Goodbody (Bass) were joined by new drummer Paul Youngs when the band reformed in 2011.
Guitarist Michael Brown says, “We are really pleased that people will now hear the album we wanted them to hear in 1992. At the time of recording, we poured our hearts into these tracks believing they really stood out against the crop of bands that were on the scene at the time. In fact people who have heard us gig recently say that we sound really current, so maybe we were ahead of our time!”
