Hands down, the most bizarre band I've ever heard. It's like Leslie Fish and Peter Schilling whipped up the lyrics, and then sent them to Dream Theater and Rush for the music. I'm a fan of power metal. I'm a fan of filk. I haven't heard them cross over (Julia Ecklar's album comes close). I will admit that I think my favorite songs out of them are "Intergalactic Space Crusaders" (Best damn Blake's 7 filk EVER) and "Earth that Was" (Second or third best Firefly filk)

This song is pure gold: wonderful ambient and over the top instrumental, synths an vocal work. Only High Moon is beyond the level of Starchild.

Easily the best song on the album. Dan Swano's voice could shatter the earth.

The more I listen to this song, the more I love it. It went way over my head at first but it's really settled nicely in my mind :D This might be the best song on the album; the only competitor to that imo is "Songs of the Ocean".

The overall sound (and the singer) reminds me of Symphony X. Good stuff.

Alright...I can admit it...I first added "Star One" to my playlist for the simple fact that the artist picture was one of the greatest things I had ever seen. Now that I've got 38 plays of various tracks, I have to say absolutely awesome, awesome band. Best part is that I 100% would have never heard OF them, never mind anything BY them if it weren't for this site.

Arjen Lucassen is a musical genius. I was won over with Ayreon, but Star One just blew me away. [2]
