Star Ark is the musical imagination of Neil Flavelle. As of August 2012 Neil has joined forces with Daniel Cavanagh (Anathema) and Daniel Cardoso (Anathema, Head Control System) and started a new project “Lunavore”. Lunavore’s debut self titled album is due for a late 2012 or early 2013 release. It will feature some early Star Ark songs and several brand new songs.

As Lunavore will play some earlier Star Ark material the side project Star Ark is on indefinite hiatus. You can download the entire Star Ark catalog for free at

Daniel Cavanagh and I are no longer working together. Daniel Cardoso will still feature on a couple of songs. Currently about two thirds of the album is complete and available for streaming and download at The direction will be more eclectic and essentially "unmarketable" so just an indie release. I honestly don't even know what my band name is anymore, it's a real big mess. Currently completing two last songs and then it's done. I wish Daniel Cavanagh and Anathema all the best in the future with their amazing music.

Dude, this is awesome. It's very proggy and part of me wants it to be heavier, but it's quite good.

And i was first to use that name but I don't blame you, it's pretty fucking awesome. The song does the name justice.

I'm hating your use of vocals (not saying you are bad at it, you have sound technique or so it seems) and drums, way too much shitty prog-ish for my taste, but I love your guitar sound. I guess that's because I love Isis and hate Katatonia, oh well. Keep it up, it's not my thing but it seems very properly done. Oh, and the Star Trek pun on the logo is terrible :P

Usually i ignore the "check our band" posts, but this is pretty good stuff, glad i listened, good job! :) it really does sound a lot like katatonia, which is fine by me. Contact Jonas Renske to do a song with him ;)))

I agree with StakerSen. The vocals are quite original and rare. Nicely sang too, proper voice. I also repeat the question asked by someone else, is it a full band or a one-person project?

Actually, the vocals are great. Very well recorded/mixed/mastered. Cool beans.

With some stronger vocal work and none of the sound bites (Charlie Sheen; really?!), this music would be amazing.

Got through all of your pieces in the last hour, I am really positively surprised! This is better than many full-time long existing prog-metal bands, including Symphony X and Evergrey! I beg you, continue making this kind of music! As mentioned before, VERY refreshing for its genre. I am very glad you shouted it in my profile, thanks =) My favourites were God Complex Avatar, Winning, Write and New Paradise :)

"God Complex Avatar" is really nice! I will listen to all the other tracks shortly, I hope they will be just as good :) Very pleasant prog, keep up the good work and try to keep everybody informed! Got a facebook page? :)
