Astrud Gilberto (born Astrud Weinert, the daughter of a Brazilian mother and a German father, on March 30, 1940, in Bahia, Brazil) is a Brazilian singer known for her and bossa nova music, including the Grammy Award-winning song “The Girl from Ipanema”.

Antônio Carlos Jobim (also known as Tom Jobim) was a Brazilian songwriter, composer, arranger, singer, pianist, and guitarist. He was a primary force behind the creation of the bossa nova style.
