Sat 8 Sep – Rock of Ages Festival
(this only deals with Sunday 9th)

Sunday meant a trip up the M5 and M42 to Tamworth for what could be a very special night. For the first time together onstage in fourteen years, we would be seeing the reformation of one of the best British rock bands of the late 80s and early 90s. Reunited after a rather acrimonious split, we would be witnessing Wolfsbane.

Arriving on Sunday evening, I only caught a few of the bands on the bill.

Sacred Heart were technically rather decent, drawing from a wide range of classic rock and metal bands, but lacked any real character, almost as if they were they were trying to pander to too many influences. If they chose a more specific direction they could be interesting, but they didn't do anything for me.

Stairway were on next and weren't really any better. Coming over with a late 70s-early 80s hard rock vibe, they just didn't seem to be too anonymous. Nothing to really grab you.
