“Stacy” is the title of a Japanese movie, directed by Naoyuki Tomomatsu, and based on the novel of the same name from Kenji Otsuki. The novel refers to Classic Horror, naming George A. Romero (Dawn of the Dead) and Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead).

In the film, the story takes place in the Early 21st Century, when 16-year-old schoolgirls start to die all around the world. Just before dying, these schoolgirls experience a phase called “Near Death Happiness. ” This phase manifests itself as constant joy among the girls. The weird part of this situation is that the dead girls won’t rest in peace, and instead came back to life as schoolgirl-zombies. Nobody knows the reason, but these girls were called “Stacies.”

Stacy 16 is a fusion of styles: Goth, Trance and Electro outlines, mixed with black humor and sarcasm. Our lyrics speak to topics ranging from legends and myths, like “Bloody Mary,” and B-series monsters, like “Freddy Krueger” to vampires and supernatural creatures, such as in the song “She.”

Stacy 16 arises in April of 2007, integrated by Amaranta in voice and lyrics and Polo in Programming and synthesizers; Sequenz_ joined a couple months later doing some vocals and additional music. It makes reference to classic horror movies dating from the 30’s and 80’s, gore films and to master pieces by Lucio Fulci, Darío Argento, Tod Browning, Frederick Murnau and Geroge A. Romero.
