Biography

Stacey Jackson makes shameless disco pop - nothing more, nothing less.

The album fits very firmly into the popular music vein: this is pop with attitude. Remember girl power? With impressive vintage throwbacks to dance-inducing 90s house and disco beats, this is girl power disco pop at its most defined.

With her energetic vocal ability, Jackson is not a start up - she’s been in the business for years - a professional singer in her twenties she took a break to have babies, then, in her forties, the death of her father spurred her forward in her album making ambitions. Stacey says “he had always told me to go for my dreams and I felt after he passed away that life is short and you should make the most of it. Then a feature from Snoop Dogg on melodic and down tempo beat driven track ‘Live it Up’ cemented the opportunity, and Jackson’s debut record was born.

It’s certainly life-affirming to see a forty-four year old mother releasing an Ibiza styled dance record. Remember when we used to revel in those cheesy yet irreproachably catchy melodies that were impossible to hate and near impossible to resist in their hypnotic danceable charm? It was the Nineties, and here we have a vintage throwback to the excitement and energy of that time - a pop album impossible to fault within disco circles. It even reached top 40 in the Billbord Dance Chart this year. Opening track “Pointing Fingers” has been met with open arms by the clubbing community with remixes by Dave Aude and Wayne G and it’s reached top 5 in UK and USA dance charts, and with her melodic, upbeat and glitteringly catchy cheese-pop dance tunes she’s proved a huge hit on the gay scene.
