Squad Five-O, a rock and roll outfit from Savannah, Georgia and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, consisted of vocalist Jeff Fortson, bassist John Fortson, guitarists Adam Garbinski and Kris Klein, and drummer Dave Petersen.

They released their first two albums, ‘What I Believe’ and ‘Fight The System’ on independent labels, and signed to Tooth & Nail Records, they released their third album ‘Bombs Over Broadway’ in summer 2000. The earliest version of the band played ska-punk and has since moved to punk and finally to a rock and roll sound.

In spring 2002, Squad Five-O released their self-titled album, followed by a deal with Capitol Records in 2003. Their last album ‘Late News Breaking’ was released in summer 2004.

In the summer of 2005, Squad Five-O decided to call it quits.

“This is not the end. It’s but the beginning of the reformation.” -Jeff Fortson

Members of Squad Five-O have gone on to form or join the bands Gasoline Heart, The Reformation, holy!holy!, Adam And Dave’s Bloodline and Marah.

Bombs Over Broadway Midnight, New York City. Broadway, going up in flames. Ground zero, big city. Big Apple swallowed by the flames. Bombs away, we never saw it coming. Bombs away, til the bombs started falling. Down, to seal our fate. No time to run, now it's too late. Countdown 5-4-3-2-1. The end is near baby here it comes. The neon lights of the city burn. And the sirens warn: 'Bombs over Broadway!' Lady Liberty is laid to rest. 'Give me liberty or give me death.' Her dream died with her last request. She didn't expect bombs over Broadway. So long Manhattan Island. Our pride in you had no end. New York, New York. Our pride has done you in. Lights out, New York City. You were the first, but you won't be the last.

makes a lot of sense. They are both from the same area (Savannah/Pooler, GA). Have you guys heard John's new side project, Gasoline Heart? Very good.

yes to Jeff being on the new Showbread album! I can't wait to hear it. Hopefully it will be a good guest vocal, similar to Roper's from the first record and not just bgv's.

Late News Breaking is such a good album. I always liked them live, but the albums were always sub-par to me. However, Late News Breaking is PERFECT for SFO. I wish I would have gotten to see them play those songs. I also wish more people would have given that album a shot.

I saw this band live at a local venue (Cat's Cradle) when they opened up for American Hi-Fi... They were simply amazing. I always wanted to see them live again, but I guess I'll never get that chance.. Maybe they'll get back together and do a few reunion tours
