As far back as 1991, Evander (Bass) and Nate (Drums) joined forces in a punk- and funk rock power trio named ‘Peel the Protection Paper’. Them being this delicate rhythmatic clockwork, they laid out the foundation for a fertile and prosperous cooperation in the years to come.

However, after ‘PPP’ ended they followed their interests in separate directions. It took several different musical interventions before the two of them hooked up again. Late 2001, The time was right to reunite and Nate brought along Walter “Waffle” (guitar) for a session. Walter appeared to be an inspirational and dedicated guitar player and Spoonliquor saw the light of day. First they spent a good 2 years in their basement studio ‘building character’. Then, by coincidence they ran into Adida (vocals). A charismatic, talented and ambitious fellow from Israel. Their first musical encounter made a

In the summer of 2005 Spoonliquor recorded in their own rehearsal studio during ‘The Basement Sessions’. A first attempt to capture their musical variety on tape. Songs like ‘Funky Chicken’ or ‘Sahara Sand‘ shows what they’re about at this point.

Late 2006, Waterfront Studios in Rotterdam were booked for their next studio project. ‘Lick ’R Where It Hurts’ represent songs like ‘Alamo’ and ‘Stainless Steel’ and seems to redefine them as an ‘in your face’ type of rock band. But alongside this mayhem there were songs like ‘Green Machine’ and ‘Air’ which made it impossible to tag Spoonliquor music simply as ‘plain rock’.
