Spooncat began in 1996 as an original ten-piece horn band, playing danceable rock infused with funk, soul and jazz. They released three records with that lineup: Navigate The Fabulous (1998), The American Jiggler (2000), and the live album, Live Animals (2003). Eventually, the original rhythm section lineup* struck out on its own, and recorded Tao Babies (2005). Their newest release, Higher Than The State (2008) includes the horns on a few tracks. They have three albums in development.
