Biography

Spiralmountain (a.k.a. Erik Ebsen) is an 19-year old guitarist from Thousand Oaks, California who now resides in Hindsville, Arkansas. He started his solo djent project Spiralmountain in 2011 and released three demos, Oceans EP, Blacksand LP, Immemorial EP, followed by his debut album Spiralmountain.

Spiralmountain could be easily viewed as America’s response to British progressive metal act Chimp Spanner, but with visceral breakdowns and grooves akin to such bands as Veil of Maya and After the Burial thrown in the mix. Among the brutality but not easily missed in Erik’s music are hauntingly beautiful calm sections that no doubt are among the likes of Isis and the Contortionist.
