    It started as a joke - it's because the way most of the shoegaze bands would dance would have them sway back and forth staring at their shoes. Look at old Ride or Charlatans videos.

    as i recall, landings were the toughest part of the lsd experience, so wishing to come down easy is pretty understandable. and if J Spaceman began his relationship w/ Jesus while flying high, and he sustained that relationship, all the more power to him. did that happen? GOD only knows
