South Central

Described variously as: a Post Glitch; Indie/Electro; Dance-Rocktronica band.

Based in Brighton UK these producers work autonomously or with a band live and have carved out a niche converting new Indie Rock tracks to the dance floor. These are trade marked by their intense electro-glitch laden intro’s combined with guitar riffs inspired by cited influences such as the Fall, Banshees, Pavement and Interpol.

First brought to prominence spectacularly by their contentious Bootleg of the ‘Klaxon’s’ cover of (Kick Like A Mule’s)’The Bouncer’. This release had actually been proceeded by a string of Remixes for other upcoming UK Indie bands and artists such as Metronomy, Maccabees Shitdisco and Boy Kill Boy.
Other mixes have since followed for the likes of Twisted Charm, Van She, Radar and The Sunshine Underground.

South Central’s debut single ‘Nothing Can Go Wrong!’was released in late 2006 heralded by a video which (it is claimed); was filmed on a budget of £18.50 on the Leeds based label Art Goes Pop!

The Castle of Heroes 12” was then released on the uber kool Young Turks label with a third release ‘Machine/Revolution’ went through Parlophone’s ‘Regal Singles Club’ with 500 x limited 7”. Around the same time the band released another ridiculously popular Bootleg this time of Late Of The Pier. South Central are prolific official remixes for what can only be described as a who’s, who list of popular alternative acts including; The Maccabees, Shychild, The Whip, Sunshine Underground, Dandi Wind and The Wombats.
