SOUL MECCA is an R&B, Neo-Soul Production and Songwritting team consisting of Thom Ford and Chris Gibbs based in Washington DC. The vision of Soul Mecca formed in the late 90’s by songwritter / producer / arranger Thom Ford. Soul Mecca’s concept and sound would incorporate various music genres such as R&B, Funk, Neo-Soul, and Soulful House(Dance) Music.
At the start of the new millennium, songwritter / producer / arranger / engineer Chris Gibbs joined forces with Thom and the nucleus of Soul Mecca expanded. The vision expanded also, to include a production / artist collective of like minded vocalist in the DC area who would often guest on Soul Mecca’s songs.
Soul Mecca’s debut single “Just For You”, which spotlighted the powerful voice of guest vocalist Thi-Lai (Tie-Lay) Simpson garnered great praise in the states, the original version and the DJ Oji (House Remix) version, but was well received internationally.
Soul Mecca’s mission is to feed the listener a Sound that will move the MIND, SPIRIT and BODY!!
