3 Sep 2007, 05:51 by paulgearPsalm 56 is one of my favourite Sons Of Korah tracks. It demonstrates perfectly their artistic brilliance: fitting their music with the subject matter of the psalm. Notice how the tempo of the music changes, and layers of instrumentation are added and removed at each stanza break. Superb.
(I do have to admit, though, that musically, i like it when they get into the more intense stuff, like Psalm 24 - Lift Up Your Heads.)
3 Sep 2007, 05:39 by paulgearWoot! I got a copy of the Sons of Korah boxed set for Father's Day! (What a considerate wife i have! :-) Theoretically, these are only supposed to be available after concerts (yeah, like i'm gonna stand in line for 45 minutes after the concert finishes at 23:00...), but CRSOnline.com.au has a bunch of them. It has all of Sons Of Korah's last five CDs - nice!

What a great evening this was! Despite it being 21:00 before Sons Of Korah took the stage, no one was disappointed.
Cameron Semmens is a poetic performer who specialises in telling Bible stories by alliteration. (I took some video of his performance on the night.) His unique humour was very well-received by the audience.
In addition to their usual collection of Psalms, Sons Of Korah also performed a creative reading of Revelation 19, which was very moving. These guys absolutely blew me away with their professionalism, their passion, and their genuine worshipfulness in communicating the Scriptures to a captivated audience.
I also have to give a plug for the technical team - the mixing was absolutely beautiful, with excellent bottom end clarity. (These guys mustn't get much credit usually - the sound tech was quite surprised when i went to find him and thank him immediately after the close. ;-)
