Biography

from the myspace page:

Sona Fariq formed in East London in 1997.

In 1999 the band signed to WEA records.

One album entitled SONA FARIQ was released on WEA in 2000 to mass critical acclaim. The album was followed by rigorous touring throughout the UK and the European continent, further consolidating Sona’s second-to-none live reputation.

The band sadly split in 2004 while trying to find a deal for their second album, which was written but never released.

Friends of Sona may be interested to know that singer Mike Frankel has started a new project, DEAD KIDS, with a single, ‘Dead Wife Pills’, out now on the Fierce Panda label. (myspace.com/youaredeadkids).
Meanwhile guitarist Dom and bass player Abs are currently forming another band, no name for the project yet, but plenty of tunes. Abs is also known to be involved with Flowers of Sulphur as a bassist.
