About this album

Solar System is a small-label 1990s easygoing funk jazz outfit that features a smooth-styled rapper, C.R.A.S.H. They are not be confused with DJ Solar System. Solar System lineup: Chris Standring - Guitars, Rodney Lee - keyboards, and C.R.A.S.H. - lyricist. Percussion is provided through rhythm generators and sequencer loops. Mostly original material, the most widely circulated tracks off this album are their funky takes on the covers of “Me And Mrs. Jones” and Lou Reed’s “Walk on the Wild Side.” This album was released on Sonic Groove! Records, West Hollywood, Ca. in 1996. Says Jonathan Widran of Allmusic: “… soulful, neat and natty … into the realm of the ultra-hip.”
