I don't enjoy the programmed beats. But I enjoy this album otherwise.

The sound on this album is addictive. Overpowering bass grooves with Sly's crazy distorted vocals.

Perhaps the greatest funk album of all time, and definitely, one of the deepest, most emotionally conflicted works of art in music history. It *blew my mind* as a teenage white kid growing up in Alabama in the 1980s (how did I make it out of there alive and sane?).

History was made ... and Sly began to slide - with substance assistance - down the pole into surprising obscurity whilst MJ was lauded by white rock journalists. Time for a reassessment methinks
