Pygmalion was Slowdive's last album, released on February 6th, 1995. Pygmalion is widely recognized as a severe departure from the band's previous work. The album has a much more bleak and damaged approach than "Just For a Day" or "Souvlaki". On this album Slowdive uses a wide array of different electronic effects and a heavier focus on clean guitar tones. The demise of Slowdive came soon after the release of this album.

"Sorry Soulvaki. Pygmalion is Slowdive's best album." Basically every single one of ya'll who said this have played Souvlaki way more though...

Just listened to it for the first time today, I couldn't avoid it any more. It's gorgeous. I'm in love.

DistortionZero: Rutti's easily one of the best tracks.

Love---love. And without that ten minute opener, this album would be ridiculously incomplete!

Could do without a ten minute opening song but yeah it's really neat.

For me, it was love at first listen. I can see, however, how Pygmalion is a challenging yet a rewarding experience for a listener. I still wonder how such a stellar record has been criminally underrated, as well. 10/10
