About this album

Pygmalion was Slowdive’s last album, released on February 6th, 1995. Pygmalion is widely recognized as a severe departure from the band’s previous work. The album has a much more bleak and damaged approach than “Just For a Day” or “Souvlaki”. On this album Slowdive uses a wide array of different electronic effects and a heavier focus on clean guitar tones. The demise of Slowdive came soon after the release of this album.

@bluemondayuk: actually it was released around the Bends, or maybe between the Bends and OKC.

A recommendation for a lazy day: Try listening to Pygmalion while running this in the background, preferably starting it right when the percussion kicks in on Rutti. Alternately, just listen to Pygmalion while it's actually raining. Whatever floats your goat.

"Some of the unreleased tracks off these sessions like Red Five really were years ahead of their time, sonically" Seriously. Anyone who enjoys/ loves Pygmalion must make a note of listening to the demos.
