The idea of forming Slickers’ Match Factory band came up in 2010, when Oleg Pesochinskiy’s slicker essence and Arseniy Sergeev’s romantic nature collided in Moscow Armed Forces Band, where they were doing call-up military service. Combination of a romantic and a slicker and their acquaintance with the rudiments of music didn’t take long to crystallize into the first single called That’s Who You Are, introducing the blend of bossa nova, funk, positivity, recklessness and armed forces routine.

The growing appetite for sowing something eternal and positive was satisfied by creating a homemade factory producing musical thoughts. Light acoustic sounding instead of bass frequencies and electric guitar riffs, matches instead of lighters, sex for love instead of sex for money, these aren’t the things the guys followed creating their musical stories of ‘city slickers’; but that’s what it all resulted in; because no one becomes a slicker or a neo-romantic you should be born one…
