this symphonic use of modern instruments shows what post-rock work can do when given free license. Reminiscent of some of the better Prog of the '70s, without antiquated the electronic keyboards. And of course, it all dates back to George Martine & the Beatles. And then there was Pink Floyd, King Krimson, Brian Eno--that's the lineage I see. This music has a good sense of its history is aware of its roots. Heavy metal with electric harpsichord and mellotron

A new dawn in the genre? I don't know that I would go that far, but what I do know, what I do now is that you guys could make it be so. Sleepmakeswaves is not near the "G" spot for me yet. While I do love the song and the very disonant sound prevails (which I always appreciate), I do want to say, "Where is the melodic them here?" Think about it. Please think about it. I hear one close to minute 5 in the piece, but I already started rubbing one out to a MAXIM article. If you want me to meditate to this, make babies, and start the fucking revolution, here's what I need: 1) fuck me up with something more than the archaic sounding, antique ending on that last theme 2) go cosmic like you are playing the most important piece you've ever produced 3) die in the piece, literally die. This is what they do in Texas, and that is why Texas post-rock is saving, literally saving humanity. Indeed, the song is lovely, but that doesn't do anything for me. Show me the Truth because I need it.
