About this album

The Wayward Sons of Mother Earth is the first album by British folk metal group Skyclad, and is thus probably the first ever folk metal album, with the track “The Widdershins Jig” in particular pointing the way for the genre, and is widely considered as the first folk metal song.
It’s also their only album to feature thrash metal influences.

First albums are generally either shitty or just meh; certainly not this one.

Actually, the full name of this album is "THE Wayward Sons of Mother Earth"! I think someone should correct this and put that "THE" in its place to avoid confusion! Anyway, brilliant debut from Skyclad and one of my favorites!
