Biography
For lot of people they seem enigmatic. Several hearing them for the first time start to puzzle over if they’re even Latvians. Please meet rock band from Latvia (known as “Ēnas” ) SKY DRY TEA. Even though band members knew each other and have worked together previously, the inspiration for a something new and unheard occurred after trip to Warsaw.
After the trip band began first recordings in studio. The group’s founding date becomes September 1, 2005, the first live performance.
In spring of 2006 band released their first single “Beautiful Morning”, many radio stations included it in their rotation, thus successfully publicizing the band. After hard work in the summer of 2006 the second single “No other days” is released. Band starts to perform for ever wider audience; the first performance beyond borders in Estonia (Tartu), at the Baltic students’ song and dance festival. At the same year the third single, “Somehow” is released, which also shows good progress at radio station rotation. Also that year SKY DRY TEA participated in Baltic New Music Competition “Nokia Open Stage”
In 2007 Band performs in various Latvian music clubs and student activities. As things turn out successful for SKY DRY TEA, band becomes participation of radio SWH chart of the year, where from TOP15 “Beautiful Morning” takes 7th place. At the same summer in Riga, in Sound Division Studios is recorded the debut album. In fact mastering of the album is entrusted to Robert Hadley from „The mastering lab”.
