Biography

Skinner Box was a project of Julianna Towns, who was later a vocal contributor and sometimes member of Black Tape for a Blue Girl (Projekt Records). She is a musical prodigy, who can almost instantly master any musical instrument she picks up. With Skinner Box, Julianna created an otherworldly cabaret sound full of rich, dark melodies, featuring harps, synthesizers, and her ethereal voice. The first LP, self titled ‘Skinner Box’ debuted in 1986 with Mark Erskine of Savage Republic contributing vocals. The second LP, “The Playhouse” was released in 1990, and featured contribution from William Sassenberger. In 1991, “The Playhouse” was combined on one cd with her 3rd LP “The Imaginary Heart of”. All three LPs are currently available through Toxic Ranch Records.
