Biography

Sunderland, England (1979 – 1982)

The Sunderland, England punk/post punk band was founded in 1979 by frontman Ian Lowery (The Wall) and guitarist Nick Clift (Debutants) along with Pete Balmer (Stranded, Fad Gadget) on bass and Bruce Archibald on drums. They released four singles and disbanded in 1982 without an album to their credit. After the release of their first single, Everything Is Temporary / Silent Scream, Bruce Archibald was replaced by Alan Cole. With this line-up they recorded the subsequent single, Agent Orange / Driving. By the time of their third single, Cut / Faith In Transition, bassist Pete Balmer was replaced with Francis Cook. Bright Shiny Things / Electric Bell Girls was their last single to be released.

    In my opinion, Ski patrol has manage to make the best postpunk song ever. I've never been so hooked by a song, as when I heard Agent orange for the first time. A true masterpiece!
