Biography

Forming in 2007 Skeletons and the empty pockets (SATEP) are a five piece band from Rotherham. Having been around since 1999 (formally Fierce Panda-signed ThisGIRL) the band are well renowned for their energetic and powerful live performances, by their own admission they are “a couple o’reyt nice kids with nowt better to do.” Their first show was a small invite-only affair at Sheffield’s legendary Club 60 and in a surprisingly short space of time they have developed into the hottest live band in Britain’s fifth city.

In 2008 “Skeleton’s” headlined the BBC Introducing stage at the prestigious Reading and Leeds Festivals. In 2009 ‘Oh Brother!’ and ‘In the Woods’ was Skeletons and the Empty Pockets’ debut double A side release - which sold all 500 copies before the release date through Too Pure Records. To celebrate the release SATEP appeared on the BBC radio Sheffield’s Raw Talent to perform a live show of the songs and an interview, which then lead them to host a release party at a venue in Sheffield which sold out, and then followed a tour of the UK in May, August and November (including supporting Subways, Twin Atlantic). During 2010 the band have been writing whilst also appearing at 2000 Trees, Ynot Festivals in the main stage line-up with the likes of The Futureheads, OKGO, Mystery Jets also was the main for Focus at Tramlines, also with a lead track (In the woods) appearing on the hit TV show Hollyoaks, made 2010 a good year for SATEP.
