Skatt Bros. were viewed as Canada’s “straight” answer to America’s Village People but in actuality there were quite different. Aside from that obvious influence, the group was also flavored by Sean’s previous involvement with KISS.

Members of the group:
Sean Delaney (Vocals,Keyboards), Pieter Sweval (Vocals,Bass), Richard Martin-Ross (Vocals,Guitar), David Andez (Guitar), Richie Fontana - (Drums,Guitar), Craig Krampf (Drums) and Danny Brant (Guitar).

The album “Strange Spirits” was recorded and released in 1979 and saw them entering the game at the end of disco’s reign. 1980 brought new sounds and record company jitters. Thus no follow-up single was released as their label Casablanca was going through major changes. The company lost Donna Summer, Neil Bogart died and eventually they were absorbed by Polygram. Polygram allowed the group an additional album. ‘Rico And The Ravens’, was released only in Australia during 1981 on the Mercury Records imprint.

Their first album was chocked full of all the different sounds that one could imagine. Most discophiles only remember their hit single. Some of you may remember the other hit “Life At The Out Post”, but the album “Strange Spirits” is more than those…just listen to “Dancing For The Man” or “Fear Of Flying” two of my personal favorites.
