Silbermond is a German rock band from Bautzen. The band originally formed in 1998 under the name Jast, which comes from the first letters of the band members’ names (Johannes, Andreas, Stefanie, Thomas). In 2001, they changed their name to Silbermond (“Silver moon”). As opening act for Jeanette Biedermann, they became increasingly popular in Germany and Austria. They released their first album “Verschwende deine Zeit” (“Waste your time”) in 2004.
In late 2004 they went on tour, publishing their first concert DVD “Verschwende Deine Zeit - Live” in April 2005, which reached gold status.
On July 2, 2005 they were part of the Live-8 concerts in Berlin.
Silbermond have a global music publishing deal with BMG Music Publishing.
On April 21, 2006, the band released their second album, “Laut gedacht”, from which “Unendlich” and later, on July 7, 2006, their second single “Meer sein” were released.
Recently their Single “Das Beste” achieved Platin-Status.

the players are fine. altough the lead guitar is sligthly above an average punk guitarist; the drummer is a real good one, would have a high carrier on several music genres. base guitar is also not bad. female vocal is surprisingly well. Actually, even though the musical way of the band is, in my opinion, poor-craft or at least not a vision holder at all; the product is noticable in comparison to other recent rock (actually it's mostly pop-rock, or even pop) bands in germany. Well it's like this, there are many bands and stuff in germany; regarding the metal genre, which is nice in germany. Silbermond is another example of good musicians but poor vision. However, loved-in-whole-world band Rammstein is actually a gathering by average players, maybe even lower. there are guys in younger than highschool age but playing like gods :). The point here is no matter how you are poor on instrument, the important aim is reflecting your thought, putting an awesome product on.
