"emo" isn't a curse word, it just describes this specific kind of sense of melody and melancholy some hardcore bands developed. The shit that started with Fugazi, Sunny Day Real State and others. Just because there are now a lot of shitty teenage bands using those elements to make shitty music now everything called "emo" is considered shit? That's like saying metal is shit because there is new-metal. Get over it. That said, yes, this song is emo. In a good way.
