Absolutely impressed by "Weighted Mind", so worth the wait. Different to Daybreak for sure (less virtuosistic (so not a word), but more ambitious you could say), but also feels like the record tells a more complete story.
Teenage icons these days make me sick. They're pawns of the Disney channel, whores and sluts glorified to appeal to the offspring of consumers.
Little girls should be aspiring to be Sierra Hull. She's that beautiful teenage girl that millions would fall head over heels for, but she lacks the sickening, empty shallowness of mainstream musicians. Sierra's got soul, she has integrity. She's got a fucking mandolin.
There is incredible maturity in Sierra's music. While others her age may be trying desperately to jump from Nashville to LA or NY, Sierra is true to the roots of bluegrass. She is playing at the MACC in Columbus, OH on July 21 (2010) with some of the best in current bluegrass. Sierra, please always keep true to the music...the humble and grateful fans of bluegrass would be crushed to lose you! :-)
Stunningly brilliant. A superb début album, beautifully recorded, wonderful melody and a scintillating vocal. Sierra must be destined for world-wide stardom. If you've not heard her, you are genuinely missing out.
