A presentation to put anybody defects. So was the show of Jamaican Siddy Ranks, last Saturday, May 7, 2005 in Salvador. The event that marked the return of the artist to Bahia, and this was his second appearance on good ground, was also the involvement of several bands from the alternative scenario of the Capital, as “Connect Jamaica”, “Ed & Poppy Vox” and “Connection Rasta “. The venue for the event was “CODEBA Warehouse” in Commerce - Centre of Salvador. The production was one of the strengths of the event, ensuring the absence of delays and problems with time, leaving the public worried that the only interest at the time, honoring the artists. The highlight of the evening was the band “Roots Nyabinghi”, who played with plenty of power next to the Jamaican Siddy ranks, bringing the expressive crowd wild with each classical singer, who incidentally, is a favorite in Bahia and Maranhão. Ranks Siddy not stop a moment, and showed that he also knows playing gigs with a lot of originality, honoring Bob Marley with a different version of “Lively Up Yourself”, and “All I Have Is Love” by Gregory Isaacs, an artist with a voice quite similar to the Ranks. With great stage presence and energy, the singer was shown to be in top form to make presentations to any magnitude. The show was full of successes Ranks, which showed no sign of fatigue, and was only stopped due to another presentation that it would still have to do the same night, in Feira de Santana, 100 km from the capital. The organizers of the event are to be congratulated for having managed to bring a great musician and exponent of Reggae in Bahia. We hope to repeat the gesture and it is possible that many other important names in Reggae International will be present in Bahia and Brazil. Thanks: Albino Apollinaris, Jerome and the entire Production Team for the attention and respect to the work of Surfóreaggae.
