Version 22

Sia Kate Isobelle Furler is an Australian singer and songwriter who scored a Top 10 hit in her homeland with her debut single, “Taken For Granted”. Pairing her unique Australian accent with the strident strings from Prokofiev’s Romeo & Juliet, the track was championed by Trevor Nelson and had Sia performing live on Jo Whiley’s Radio 1 show. Her debut album, Healing Is Difficult, garnered critical praise. She added her jazzy slurs to two tracks on Zero 7’s Simple Things album, and has worked with Beck.

Her second release, Colour the Small One, came out in 2004.

Her most well-known track, the seductive Breathe Me, appeared on the series finale of HBO’s masterpiece Six Feet Under in 2005 during the final scenes. It can be found on the Six Feet Under soundtrack: Six Feet Under: Everything Ends.

Sia’s third major-label solo album, Some People Have Real Problems, is due for release in January 2008 and will feature sleeve artwork contributed by fans. A UK and US tour has been announced for early 2008, with further UK dates expected.
